33 Years Of Friendship

Jane and Charlie have been best friends for 33 years.

 

Although they now live in different states, Jane in Florida and Charlie in Virginia, the miles have never weakened the bond they've built over more than three decades. Their friendship is the kind we all hope to experience: one built on loyalty, laughter, unconditional support and countless shared memories. They even have several matching tattoos that symbolize the connection they've nurtured over the years.

 

From the moment we started the session, it was impossible not to notice the joy they bring wherever they go. Their laughter came easily. Their encouragement of one another was constant. The kindness they radiate is genuine and spending time with them was simply refreshing.

 

This past Sunday, July 19, I had the privilege of photographing two incredible women, Jane and Charlie, at the breathtaking Crystal Hill Gardens in Mechanicsville, Virginia. This marked my second time photographing at this hidden gem. (https://www.facebook.com/CrystalHillGardens)

 

One of the things I love most about Crystal Hill Gardens is the warm welcome. Just like my first visit, owner Stuart Williams greeted us with genuine hospitality, invited us to sign the guest book, and took a few moments to chat after we finished our session. It's that personal touch that makes every visit feel special.

 

Another inspiring part of Jane & Charlie's story is one they share personally. Both Jane and Charlie have achieved significant weight loss and perhaps even more impressively, have maintained it over time. Anyone who has experienced that journey knows it requires tremendous dedication, perseverance and commitment. Their accomplishments are something to be incredibly proud of and their confidence truly shines through in every photograph.

 

As a photographer, I love creating beautiful images, but what I cherish even more is documenting stories like theirs. Portraits become so much more meaningful when they capture relationships, milestones and the people who make our lives richer.
